This role involves nurturing young learners holistically at Kikuyuni Primary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, mentoring, and managing the development and health of students in the Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) program.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n- Nurture young learners holistically.\n- Teaching and mentoring learners.\n- Develop schedules and enforce routines for learners, ensuring adequate physical activities and rest.\n- Develop schemes of work and lesson notes.\n- Ensure registration of learners.\n- Maintain learners’ progress and health reports.\n- Liaise with the Ministry of Health for deworming and other health-related issues.\n- Maintain a safe and comfortable ECDE learning environment.\n- Provide age-appropriate supervision and discipline.\n- Communicate learners’ behavior and development to parents/guardians through reports.\n- Use play and instructional techniques (e.g., storytelling, rhyming games) to enhance learning.\n- Address and cater to learners with special needs.\n- Sensitize the community on Early Years Education (EYE).\n- Perform any other duty assigned by the Head Teacher or Sub-County Officers.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\n- Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) with a TSC number.\n- Minimum academic qualification: D+ and above.\n- Must be a trained ECDE teacher with a minimum professional qualification either from ministry of education or KNEC Certificate in Early Childhood Education. Diploma qualifications is an added advantage.\n- Should be fluent and eloquent in the National official Languages.\n- Should be 45 years of age and below.\n- Competency in (CBC) curriculum.\n- Applicant must have a working experience in ECDE Center or Equivalent for a minimum period of three (3) years.\n- Computer literate.
