The ECDE Teacher for Iiani Kivaa Primary is responsible for the holistic development and instruction of young learners, ensuring they meet developmental milestones through the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC). This role involves teaching, mentoring, and managing the learning environment of the center.\n\n### Key Responsibilities and Duties\n- Nurture young learners holistically and provide mentorship.\n- Develop schemes of work, lesson notes, and schedules to guide instruction.\n- Ensure registration of learners and maintain accurate progress and health reports.\n- Liaise with the Ministry of Health for student health programs such as deworming.\n- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and conducive ECDE learning environment.\n- Provide age-appropriate supervision and discipline for children.\n- Communicate learners' behavior and developmental progress to parents or guardians.\n- Utilize play-based techniques, such as storytelling and rhyming games, to enhance learning.\n- Address and cater to the specific needs of learners with special needs.\n- Sensitize the community on the importance of Early Years Education (EYE).\n- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head Teacher or Sub-County Officers.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\n- Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) with a valid TSC number.\n- Minimum academic qualification of KCSE D+ and above.\n- Must be a trained ECDE teacher with a Certificate in Early Childhood Education from the Ministry of Education or KNEC (Diploma is an added advantage).\n- Should be fluent and eloquent in the National official Languages.\n- Must be 45 years of age and below.\n- Demonstrated competency in the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).\n- Minimum of three (3) years of working experience in an ECDE Center or equivalent environment.\n- Must be computer literate.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via the Machakos County Public Service Board portal at http://jobs.machakos.go.ke or through the link .
