The Design Engineer at Safal Group is responsible for designing and analyzing steel-framed structures for a diverse range of applications. This role requires the use of modern structural design technology and software to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with sales teams and detailers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Performance Areas
Design & Analysis: Design Steel Framed Structures for diverse applications using the latest Technology in Structural Design & analysis. Specify appropriate materials based on structural specifications and codes of practice.
Operational Efficiency: Meet departmental KPIs like Material efficiency (Kg/m2), design efficiency (hrs/design, designs/day), and minimize design errors.
Timeline Management: Meet required design timelines as agreed with line managers to ensure customer expectations are met.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with the sales team for scope details of new enquiries and final details of confirmed jobs. Generate accurate bills of materials for pricing purposes.
Documentation: Generate complete design calculations and analysis reports for all confirmed jobs.
Quality Assurance: Liaise with detailers in the preparation of drawings for internal & external use. Check details on drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications and conduct random quality inspections during fabrication.
Training & Development: Participate in the coaching and training of new recruits within the department.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a reputable institution.
Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite).
Proficiency in functional use of design spreadsheets and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, specifically: AutoCAD, Prokon, Masterseries, and StaadPro.
2 – 3 years of working experience in Structural Designs and related projects.
