Depot Field Clerk - Kisumu

Reeds Africa Consult is seeking a Depot Field Clerk in Kisumu to support efficient logistics operations by coordinating truck loading documentation, managing customs processing, and liaising with the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). The role is essential for ensuring the timely and compliant dispatch of petroleum products.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n#### Truck Coordination & Pre-Checks\n- Coordinate and assist in pre-checks of trucks before loading to ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements.\n- Verify truck documentation and driver compliance prior to dispatch.\n\n#### Customs & Loading Documentation\n- Lodge truck loading orders with customs authorities promptly to facilitate clearance.\n- Present documentation files to KRA for gate pass processing to ensure timely release of loaded trucks.\n\n#### Documentation Delivery\n- Deliver Bills of Lading (BoL), seals, and other dispatch documentation to drivers before departure.\n- Ensure drivers understand and sign for received documentation and seals.\n\n#### Liaison with KPC & KRA\n- Act as a runner for updating and submitting any missing truck information to KPC offices to avoid dispatch delays.\n- Follow up on clearance status with KRA and provide timely updates to the operations team.\n\n#### Operational Support\n- Maintain accurate records of documents delivered, collected, and submitted during daily operations.\n- Escalate any discrepancies, documentation issues, or delays promptly to the supervisor.\n- Assist with additional operational tasks as assigned to support smooth depot operations.\n\n### Key Requirements\n- Diploma in Customs Administration, Clearing and Forwarding or a related field.\n- 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the petroleum industry.\n- Understanding of customs and KRA gate pass processing procedures.\n- Familiarity with KPC operational requirements for truck dispatch.\n- Good interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with drivers, customs, and operational teams.\n- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.\n- Ability to handle outdoor tasks and move between offices (depot, KRA, KPC) efficiently.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online by visiting the Reeds Africa Consult application portal at https://www.myjobmag.co.ke/apply-now/1154292.
