Bomet County is seeking a qualified individual for the position of County Legal Counsel II (CPSB 08). The successful candidate will provide legal advisory services, support the county's legal departments, and ensure that the County Government of Bomet adheres to all constitutional and statutory requirements. This role involves significant legal research, drafting of documents, and representation of the county in various legal forums.
Responsibilities
Provide legal advice and opinions to various county departments and the executive.
Assist in the drafting and review of county legislation, contracts, and legal agreements.
Represent the County Government in legal proceedings, including courts and tribunals.
Conduct thorough legal research to support county operations and policy formulation.
Ensure the county's operations are compliant with the Constitution of Kenya and other relevant laws.
Support the implementation of national values and principles of governance as per the Constitution.
Requirements for Appointment
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Possession of a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) Degree from a recognized institution.
A Postgraduate Diploma in Legal studies from the Kenya School of Law.
Admission as an advocate in the High Court of Kenya.
Possession of a current and valid Practicing Certificate.
Full fulfillment of the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Demonstrate an understanding of National Values and Principles of Governance and Public Service as stipulated in Article 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
