AIC Kijabe Hospital is seeking a highly qualified Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology to join its medical team. Established in 1915, AIC Kijabe Hospital is a faith-based, multi-specialty facility sponsored by the Africa Inland Church, Kenya. Recently classified as a Level 6B National Tertiary Teaching and Referral Hospital with a bed capacity of 363, the hospital serves patients from across Kenya and other African countries.
Role Overview
The Consultant will provide specialized clinical care, lead the obstetrics and gynecology department's medical activities, and participate in the hospital's teaching and referral mandates. The role is central to maintaining the hospital's reputation for high-quality, compassionate, faith-based healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert consultation and treatment for obstetric and gynecological conditions.
Perform specialized surgeries and manage high-risk maternity cases.
Oversee clinical excellence and patient safety within the department.
Participate in the training and mentorship of junior medical staff and interns within the teaching hospital framework.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient management.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) and a Master’s degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Licensing: Must be registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board (KMPDC).
Specialization: Must possess a valid specialist practicing license.
