As a Completions TRS Crew member at Baker Hughes, you will be responsible for the safe and professional operation of Tubular Running Services (TRS) equipment. This role is fundamental to drilling and completion operations, requiring the use of specialized tools such as power tongs, elevators, and hydraulic power units. You will work closely with rig crews and supervisors to ensure operations are conducted efficiently and safely in both onshore and offshore environments.
Responsibilities
Operate TRS equipment such as power tongs, elevators, slips, spiders, torque‑turn systems, and hydraulic power units safely and professionally.
Assist with rig‑up and rig‑down of TRS equipment, including stabbing boards, power units, and tubular handling tools.
Communicate effectively with the drill floor operator, clients, and subcontracted personnel to ensure coordinated and safe operations.
Perform basic troubleshooting, inspections, and minor maintenance of TRS equipment before, during, and after operations.
Ensure compliance with all safety requirements, attend rig safety meetings, and report hazards or operational issues immediately.
Complete job documentation, activity reports, and support operational tasks as instructed by the Operations Coordinator.
Requirements and Qualifications
Have general knowledge of the oil and gas industry with prior TRS or drilling‑related field experience preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools safely and correctly.
Ability to work and communicate effectively with rig crews, supervisors, and clients in high‑pressure environments.
A two‑year technical degree (preferred) or an equivalent combination of technical training and field experience (BA/BSc/HND level mentioned).
Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to follow procedures, inspect equipment, and maintain operational readiness.
Ability to travel for onshore/offshore assignments and work variable schedules, including on‑call and shift‑based operations.
