Role Overview\n\nThe Community Oral Health Officer III at the County Government of Kitui is responsible for providing essential dental care services and promoting oral hygiene within the community and educational institutions. This role involves both clinical treatment of common dental conditions and outreach activities aimed at improving public health awareness regarding oral hygiene.\n\n### Key Responsibilities and Duties\n\n* Participating in oral health demonstrations, exhibitions, and giving lectures to communities and schools to promote better hygiene practices.\n* Collecting data for fluoride testing in water samples, analyzing and interpreting results, and advising the relevant authorities on necessary actions.\n* Identifying and treating common dental conditions, including performing temporary and permanent dental restorations.\n* Conducting tooth extractions and disimpactions, as well as the drainage of dental abscesses.\n* Reducing simple fractures of the jaws and performing suturing to control bleeding.\n* Writing and issuing prescriptions for analgesics and antibiotics as required for patient care.\n\n### Requirements and Qualifications\n\n* Must be a Kenyan Citizen.\n* Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (Plain).\n* Mandatory grade C (Plain) in English/Kiswahili and Biology/Biological Sciences.\n* Grade C- (Minus) in either Chemistry, Physics/Physical Sciences, Mathematics, or General Sciences.\n* Diploma in Community Oral Health or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified candidates are requested to apply online through the County Government of Kitui careers portal at .
