Job Description
The County Government of Kitui is seeking a qualified Clinical Officer (Optometrist) to join its medical team. This role involves providing high-quality eye care services, conducting examinations, and managing visual health within the county's healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests to assess patient health.
Diagnose, manage, and treat various eye and visual system disorders.
Prescribe corrective lenses, including spectacles and contact lenses, based on examination results.
Detect systemic conditions that manifest in the eyes, such as diabetes and hypertension, and refer patients accordingly.
Perform refractions and conduct low-vision assessments for specialized patient needs.
Manage and refer complex ophthalmic cases to appropriate specialists or facilities.
Provide essential pre- and post-operative eye care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Requirements
A Diploma in Optometry or an equivalent qualification from a recognized training institution.
A valid Certificate of Registration from the relevant professional regulatory body.
A valid and current Professional Practice License from the relevant professional body.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications.
