City Eye Hospital is seeking a specialized Clinical Officer for the NCD & Pre-surgical Optimization role. City Eye Hospital is a social venture providing quality and affordable eye care across East Africa. This role involves managing patients with uncontrolled hypertension and diabetes to stabilize them for safe surgery within defined timelines. This is not a general outpatient role and requires high clinical judgment, personal discipline, and ownership of the pre-surgical optimization pathway.
Key Responsibilities
Manage patients with uncontrolled hypertension and diabetes.
Stabilize patients for safe surgery within defined timelines.
Track patients through the pre-surgical optimization pathway.
Run a structured chronic disease clinic with strong continuity of care.
Support patient adherence, follow-up, and long-term disease control.
Work closely with theatre, OPD, pharmacy, and laboratory teams.
Requirements and Qualifications
Diploma in Clinical Medicine (Registered Clinical Officer).
Valid practicing license in Kenya.
5+ years’ experience in a busy medical outpatient setting managing hypertension and diabetes.
Formal training in diabetes and hypertension management is an added advantage.
Strong clinical judgment and high personal discipline.
Comfort working within structured systems and measurable targets.
A patient-centered approach grounded in professionalism, compassion, and excellence.
