Job Description
The Chief Registered Nurse is a senior leadership position within the Taita Taveta County Public Service Board. This role is intended for a highly experienced nursing professional with significant administrative capability and clinical expertise. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and evaluating nursing and healthcare standards, overseeing healthcare programs, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within the county's health facilities.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide administrative leadership and oversight for the nursing department.
Set, implement, and evaluate nursing and healthcare standards and programs.
Ensure all nursing activities comply with the Nursing Council of Kenya regulations.
Supervise nursing staff across various medical disciplines including community health, midwifery, and mental health.
Monitor and maintain high levels of professional competence and patient safety.
Participate in the development and execution of county healthcare policies.
Manage the implementation of nursing protocols to improve service delivery.
Requirements for Appointment
A minimum of eight (8) years' experience in the nursing field.
Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery, or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution.
Valid Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Demonstrated high degree of professional competence and administrative capability.
Broad experience in setting and evaluating nursing and healthcare standards and programs.
