Job Description
Proto is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Bobtail Driver to ensure the safe and timely delivery of LPG to our valued customers. This role is more than just driving; it’s about being the face of the company on the road, upholding the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in maintaining top-notch vehicle readiness and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Plant Reporting: Reporting to the plant at 6:00 AM during assigned shifts, or as and when required.
Maintenance Support: Support maintenance activities with the help of the maintenance team and LPG systems’ Engineering team; conduct maintenance checklists.
Reporting: Submitting real-time online reports after deliveries via the company mobile application.
Mapping: Mapping customer locations using provided tools.
Statutory Compliance: Before starting any trip, check all statutory licenses (EPRA, NTSA, insurance, inspection, branding, and inter-county permits) are valid and up to date.
Safe Driving: Operate the asset/truck in accordance with the Kenya Traffic Act – Cap 404 of the laws of Kenya.
Incident Reporting: Ensure all accidents and incidents are reported as they happen in a timely manner.
Asset Management: Take full charge of the asset, including pre-trip checks, service interval schedules, and general cleanliness.
Safety Equipment: Take full responsibility for asset accessories – first aid kit, fire extinguishers & tool kits.
LPG Delivery: Timely delivery of LPG to customers as per stipulated SOPs.
HSE Adherence: Strictly observe HSE policies and procedures while handling company products.
System Compliance: Ensure delivery processes are done procedurally as per laid down SOPs, both physically and on the company APP system.
KPIs: Achieve and observe quick turnaround time at delivery locations as per set KPIs.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Minimum KCSE certificate.
Licensing: Valid and at least Class CD/CE Driving License.
Professional Certifications: Valid EPRA License and a Defensive Driving Certificate.
Experience: At least 3 years’ experience driving in a corporate setup.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using GPS devices i.e., smartphones.
