Key Responsibilities

• Analyze hair to ascertain condition, apply bleach, dye, or tint using an applicator or brush to color hair and scalp, and rinse hair with vinegar, water, lemon, or prepared rinses.
• Massage the scalp and perform other hair and scalp-conditioning treatments for hygienic or remedial purposes.
• Style hair by blowing, cutting, trimming, and tapering using clippers, scissors, razors, and blow-dryers.
• Suggest coiffures according to the client's physical features and current styles, or determine coiffures from instructions.
• Apply water or waving solutions to hair and wind hair around rollers, or perform pin curls and finger waves.
• Set hair by blowing dry, natural-set, or pressing hair with a straightening comb.
• Suggest cosmetics for conditions such as dry or oily skin, and apply lotions and creams to the face and neck to soften skin and lubricate tissues.
• Perform other beauty services such as massaging the face or neck, shaping and coloring eyebrows or eyelashes, and removing unwanted hair.
• Clean, shape, and polish fingernails and toenails.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in beauty therapy or cosmetology.
• High school diploma.
• Must be in possession of a valid Passport (valid for a minimum of 1+ years at the time of hiring) and be able to travel internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
• Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
• Valid country driver's license.
• Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
