Job Description
To deliver high-quality coffee beverages and exceptional customer service while maintaining cleanliness, operational efficiency, and a welcoming café environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Hot and Cold Beverage Service
Open and close the coffee shop, ensuring all equipment and workstations are set up, cleaned, and ready for operation.
Prepare and serve a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffee drinks, in accordance with established quality standards and customer preferences.
Maintain consistency in the taste, temperature, quality, and presentation of all beverages by adhering to approved recipes and preparation techniques.
Recommend suitable beverages and menu items to customers based on their preferences, promoting an exceptional customer experience and driving sales.
Customer Care
Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming customers, taking orders, responding to inquiries, and recommending suitable menu items based on customer preferences.
Address customer concerns, complaints, and feedback professionally and courteously, escalating complex issues to the supervisor where necessary.
Foster a positive, clean, and welcoming café environment that enhances the dining experience for students, staff, and visitors.
Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure seamless operations, efficient service delivery, and smooth workflow during peak business periods.
Continuously enhance professional knowledge by keeping abreast of coffee industry trends, brewing techniques, and specialty beverage offerings to improve product quality and customer experience.
Cleanliness and Hygiene
Maintain a well-organized and adequately stocked coffee station by monitoring inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other beverage supplies, and reporting replenishment requirements promptly.
Ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation by cleaning workstations, counters, tables, coffee equipment, and utensils, and by disposing of waste in accordance with established procedures.
Comply with all health, safety, food hygiene, and sanitation regulations by adhering to approved food handling, storage, and workplace safety standards.
Stock and Inventory Support
Monitor stock levels within the coffee station and promptly notify the supervisor of low-stock items to ensure uninterrupted service.
Handle coffee bar equipment and machinery with due care, ensuring proper operation, routine maintenance, and secure storage of all service tools and accessories.
Conduct daily opening and closing stock counts, accurately record inventory movements, and report any stock variances in accordance with established procedures.
Minimum Academic Qualifications
Certificate in Hospitality Management, Barista Training, Event Management, Food & Beverage Service, or a related field.
Experience
At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
