Job Description
The County Government of Kitui is seeking to recruit three (3) Assistant Public Health Officers III. This role is responsible for community mobilization and health education to promote safe environmental health practices. The successful candidates will act as key links between the community and health facilities, ensuring that public health standards are met and maintained at the local level.
Responsibilities
Mobilizing, sensitizing, and advising communities on matters related to environmental health.
Referring health cases to relevant health facilities for appropriate intervention.
Carrying out immunization programs within the assigned jurisdiction.
Identifying environmental health issues at the community level and reporting them for action.
Organizing and facilitating community health days to advise residents on common public health issues.
Collecting and maintaining up-to-date records of services rendered for monitoring and evaluation.
Assessing the specific health needs of the community.
Implementing vector, vermin, and rodent control measures.
Executing integrated mosquito control strategies to reduce disease transmission.
Requirements
Be a Citizen of Kenya.
Hold a Diploma in either Environmental Health Science, Public Health Inspection, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Possess a valid practicing license from the relevant professional body.
Have a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
