Assistant Health Records and Information Management Officer III

Responsibilities

• Patient Management: Receiving and documenting patients at the hospital reception, and registering and booking appointments for clinics and consultants.
• Records Maintenance: Storing and retrieving medical records; creating and updating the patient master index.
• Data Operations: Gathering data from various sources, capturing data from service points, and editing patient case records for accuracy.
• Clinical Support: Preparing clinics, updating bed bureaus, and balancing daily bed returns.
• Medical Coding: Assigning codes to diseases and surgical procedures according to the International Classification of Diseases and Procedures in Medicine (ICD).
• Reporting: Preparing detailed medical records reports and managing information flow to relevant clinics.
• Compliance: Maintaining the safety and strict confidentiality of all patient records.

Requirements

• Must be a Citizen of Kenya.
• Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
