Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Laboratory Coordination: Organize and coordinate laboratory work to ensure efficient use is made of equipment; prepare equipment and chemicals prior to practical lessons.
• Inventory and Maintenance: Maintain and repair laboratory apparatus and equipment; ensure chemicals, drugs, and other materials are stored safely and appropriately.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all health and safety procedures are fully understood and strictly followed within the laboratory and culture setups.
• Student Support: Assist trainees with practical lessons and maintain record keeping for practical sessions, tracking methods and results.
• Aquaculture Management: Monitor and maintain water quality within the culture systems.
• Liaison: Coordinate with academic staff to discuss timetables, equipment requirements, and lesson work plans.
• Other Duties: Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements for Appointment

• Education: Diploma in Aquaculture.
• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience.
• Professional Knowledge: Solid understanding of quality assurance and accreditation requirements.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork abilities, and high standards of integrity.
