CDL Human Resource is seeking an Accounts Assistant (Financial Services) to support the finance department of a Deposit-Taking SACCO. The primary purpose of this role is to maintain accurate member accounts, handle payroll processing, ensure statutory compliance, and manage financial reporting within the SACCO's regulatory framework.
Key Responsibilities
Member Account Management: Update and reconcile Member Personal Accounts (MPA) to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Payroll & Statutory Compliance: Assist in the preparation of monthly payroll and ensure all statutory deductions (PAYE, NHIF, NSSF) are accurately computed and remitted in a timely manner.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
Claims & Payments: Handle next-of-kin claims for deceased members, validate and process member refunds, and prepare payments for internal and external parties.
Cash & Bank Reconciliations: Receipt and record all payments (M-Pesa, standing orders, direct debits) and assist in bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
Record Keeping: Maintain proper filing systems for accountable documents and update records of withdrawal notices.
Debt Management: Manage and update debtor and creditor records.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to SACCO policies, financial procedures, and regulatory requirements (Co-operative Act, SACCO Act, SASRA, and IFRS).
Qualification & Experience
Education: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional Certification: CPA (Part II or above) or equivalent qualification.
Experience: At least 4 years’ experience performing finance/accounts functions within a Deposit-Taking Sacco Society.
Technical Skills: Working experience with MS Dynamics Navision and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Co-operative Act, SACCO Act, SASRA requirements, and IFRS.
