The Academic Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring that academic results and the SABIS® teaching methodology are being applied to the utmost standards as per the SABIS® Educational System™. This role involves continuous communication with parents to keep them informed and updated on the progress of their children.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Supervision: Conduct daily classroom observations to ensure the SABIS® point system and classroom management techniques are applied; provide useful feedback to teachers.
Academic Monitoring: Meet with Subject Coordinators to check student results and develop action plans for failing students.
Exam Management: Prepare exam schedules and study lists term by term to ensure students are prepared ahead of time.
Data Analysis: Regularly analyze student results through academic reports (SSMS Tracker, AMS 014, AMS 050, etc.) and history files.
Teacher Support: Monitor assigned shadow teachers to ensure they follow the SABIS® teaching methodologies.
Curriculum Coordination: Coordinate with regional centers to ensure subject choices comply with government, external exam, and university admission requirements.
Quality Audits: Conduct spot checks on students’ workbooks, copybooks, and diaries for methodology compliance.
Resource Allocation: Assign teachers to classes at the start of the year and develop seating plans per SABIS® requirements.
Training & Mentorship: Participate in teacher training programs and act as a mentor/role model for staff and students.
Parental Engagement: Prepare letters and meet with parents regarding academic or behavioral issues, documenting all interactions.
Academic Support: Organize support sessions and improvement plans for academically weak students.
Performance Evaluation: Conduct teacher performance appraisals in coordination with Heads of Departments.
Reporting: Enter academic comments on end-of-term reports and coordinate with student management/life coordinators on behavioral and support effectiveness.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related subject matter; a Master's degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience within the SABIS® system.
Language: Proficient in English.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office components.
Competencies: Strong leadership, team management, interpersonal communication, and time-management skills. Must demonstrate a drive for results, problem-solving abilities, professional ethics, and accountability.
