The Youth Enterprise Coach (YEC) at East Africa Market Development Associates (EAMDA) is responsible for delivering high-quality, business-focused coaching and enterprise development support to youth-led MSMEs and groups, including self-help groups and community-based organizations. The role is designed to strengthen business fundamentals, such as recordkeeping, costing and pricing, cashflow management, and market readiness, while supporting participants to progress toward sustainable market engagement and responsible access to finance.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching and Support: Deliver high-quality, business-focused coaching to youth-led MSMEs and community groups.
Business Fundamentals: Strengthen core business skills including recordkeeping, costing, pricing, and cashflow management.
Market Engagement: Support participants in achieving market readiness and progressing toward sustainable market engagement.
Diagnostics and Learning: Conduct field-based diagnostics and facilitate structured learning sessions for entrepreneurs.
Action Planning: Support the development of action plans and contribute to building credible enterprise pipelines for market linkage.
Financial Readiness: Prepare enterprises for SACCO finance readiness.
Standards Compliance: Adhere strictly to safeguarding, inclusion, and ethical engagement standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in one of the following disciplines:
Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
Bachelor of Business Management (BBM)
Bachelor of Economics
Bachelor of Business and Economics
Bachelor of Agribusiness Management
Bachelor of Cooperative Management
Financial Literacy: Strong financial literacy and practical business acumen are mandatory.
Communication: Ability to translate complex accounting and enterprise concepts into simple, action-oriented coaching for youth entrepreneurs.
