Job Description
UN Women is seeking a Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Rapid Response Analyst to support the implementation and management of the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) programme. The analyst will provide technical and programmatic support, handle administrative and financial management within the UN framework, and contribute to advocacy and knowledge management efforts for the Rapid Response Window (RRW).
Key Responsibilities
Programme Implementation and Management
Support the day-to-day execution of the WPHF programme work plan and budget, ensuring strategic alignment.
Contribute to the development and refinement of programme strategies, concept notes, proposals, and project briefs.
Coordinate consultations with stakeholders, women’s groups, and technical experts.
Manage the onboarding of implementing partners and oversee their performance.
Review financial and narrative reports for accuracy and compliance with UN Women and WPHF standards.
Conduct monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities, including periodic field visits to assess results.
Prepare programmatic briefs and updates for senior management and focal points.
Technical Support and Capacity Building
Plan and deliver capacity-building initiatives for WPHF-funded CSOs and women’s rights organizations.
Facilitate peer-to-peer learning and mentorship opportunities for regional partners.
Ensure all initiatives integrate intersectional gender analysis and conflict-sensitive approaches.
Financial and Administrative Support
Manage projects within the ERP system (Quantum), including budget preparation, revisions, and financial closure.
Process requisitions and procurement workflows in accordance with UN Women rules.
Track financial performance and monitor budget utilization across various activities.
Provide administrative support for conferences, workshops, and travel logistics for beneficiaries.
Advocacy and Knowledge Management
Support advocacy and visibility efforts for the WPHF/RRW.
Document success stories and best practices to capture programme impact.
Contribute to the Global Learning Hub (L-HUB) and disseminate policy briefs and case studies.
Develop communication materials, including social media content and web updates.
Required Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Human Rights, Development, Peace and Conflict Studies, or a related field. (A first-level university degree with two additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree).
Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience in development programme analysis, implementation, and coordination.
WPS Expertise: Proven experience in Gender Equality and/or the Women, Peace, and Security agenda.
Technical Skills: Experience with web-based ERP systems (preferably Oracle Cloud) and data analysis for reporting.
Contextual Knowledge: Experience working in Kenya or the broader region is required.
Certification: A professional certification in project/programme management is an added advantage.
