Job Description
The SWEP Assistant is responsible for supporting the SWEP Coordinator in ensuring the growth and expansion of the SWEP program in alignment with SHOFCO’s vision and strategy. This role involves planning, implementing, and marketing sustainable livelihood initiatives aimed at empowering women through entrepreneurship, capacity building, and economic opportunities. This is a reliever position based in Kaloleni.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation
Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating program initiatives in line with SHOFCO’s mission and strategy.
Maintain program activity plans and implementation schedules to ensure quality and timely achievement of outputs.
Monitor program progress and maintain relationships by communicating regularly with the beneficiaries.
Facilitate intake, assessment, referral, and monitoring of SWEP members.
Identify, recruit, and build the capacity of individuals enrolled in the SWEP project.
Explore ideas for economic empowerment and utilize peer mentoring techniques.
Document all SWEP activities and capture success stories.
Sales, Marketing, and Product Management
Market SWEP products and assist in online sales and marketing efforts.
Participate in exhibitions and trade fairs to promote products.
Maintain the sales ledger and data; gather customer feedback for improvement.
Conduct market assessments to determine new trends and advise the department accordingly.
Collect payments for SWEP merchandise and manage cash flow for sales.
Create new designs and ensure rigorous product quality control.
Supervise and allocate roles to SWEP tailors and ensure orders are completed on time.
Ensure SWEP supplies are available and maintain program equipment (machines) in good condition.
Manage SWEP shops and promote an entrepreneurial spirit within the program.
Training and Support
Identify beneficiaries' training needs and facilitate workshop sessions.
Provide women with mentors, employment-related skills, and experiential learning to build networks.
Organize and facilitate SWEP support groups and table banking/VSLA meetings.
Resource and Budget Management
Assist in managing program resources by tracking usage against approved budgets.
Submit monthly production payroll and ensure compliance with financial guidelines.
Explore partnerships and collaborations with like-minded organizations.
Ensure all beneficiary data is accurately captured in Google Drive.
Requirements and Qualifications
Diploma Option: Diploma in Project Management, Business, Entrepreneurship, Social Work, or a related field with at least 1 year of experience.
Certificate Option: Professional Certificate in Project Management, Business, Entrepreneurship, Social Work, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience.
Professional qualification in any relevant field is an added advantage.
