Role Overview
The Water Resources Authority (WRA) is the lead agency in the management of water resources in Kenya, responsible for regulating, managing, and equitably allocating national water resources. This is an entry-level and training grade for the Standards and Regulation cadre. Under the guidance of a Senior Officer, the successful candidate will focus on implementing regulations and developing policies, standards, and guidelines for water resource management.
Key Responsibilities
Compile and document existing relevant Standards and Regulations.
Isolate and allocate Standards and Regulations to applicable thematic areas.
Track the extent of application of the Standards and Regulations.
Rank compliance to Standards and Regulations based on developed criteria.
Prepare comprehensive reports on the implementation of Standards and Regulations.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, candidates must possess:
A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Hydrology, Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Geology, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Terms of Service and Remuneration
Successful candidates will serve a probationary period of six (6) months, after which they may convert to Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service. Remuneration is subject to the terms approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
