Job Description
The Water Resources Authority (WRA) is seeking to recruit Water Resources Officer II (Research and Data Management). This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer within the Research and Data Management Function. The cadre is responsible for the implementation of regulations, development and review of policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures. This will be undertaken through integrated data management for equitable and sustainable allocation of water resources.
Responsibilities
Compiling water resources and research data.
Validation of collected data to ensure accuracy.
Identifying data gaps within the systems.
Updating and maintaining the Authority's database.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have:
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Hydrology, Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Geology, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Terms of Service and Remuneration
Successful candidates will serve for a probationary period of six (6) months, thereafter converting to Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service. Remuneration will be subject to the existing terms approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
