The Water Resources Authority (WRA) is the lead agency in the management of water resources in Kenya, responsible for regulating, managing, and equitably allocating national water resources. The Water Resources Officer II (Capacity Building) works under the guidance of the Principal Water Resources Capacity Building Officer. This role is responsible for implementing regulations and developing or reviewing policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures through integrated capacity building to ensure sustainable water allocation.
Key Responsibilities
Track the implementation of regulations, policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Identify specific areas and stakeholders requiring capacity building.
Document the nature and instances of non-compliance with water regulations.
Receive, document, and manage stakeholder complaints.
Maintain and update the official complaints register.
Prepare capacity building modules and training programmes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Hydrology, Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Geology, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Terms of Service and Remuneration
Successful candidates will serve a probationary period of six (6) months before converting to Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service. Remuneration is subject to terms approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
