Job Description
Information about the Role
This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a Senior Officer. The role is situated within the Permitting Function, which is responsible for the implementation of regulations, development and review of policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures. This is achieved through the equitable and sustainable allocation of water resources via permitting, ensuring compliance with the Water Act 2026 and Water (Resources) Regulations 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving and documenting of the permit applications.
Compiling and maintaining the permit application register.
Updating the permit application register.
Preparing the permit applications for applicable technical evaluations.
Distributing the prepared permit applications to relevant officers for evaluation.
Requirements and Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have:
Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Hydrology, Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Geology, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Terms of Service and Remuneration
Successful candidates will serve for a probationary period of six (6) months, thereafter converting to Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service. Remuneration will be subject to the existing terms approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
