Urban Finance & Economy Intern

The Urban Finance & Economy Intern will provide critical support to the Urban Economy Branch. This role involves assisting with research, communication, and the organization of capacity-building initiatives aimed at improving local economic development and urban finance systems globally.

Responsibilities

• Support PFS in carrying out research on Urban Finance, Local Governance, and Local Economic Development issues and trends.
• Support PFS in preparing communication and fundraising materials in the space of Urban Finance, Local Governance, and Local Economic Development, including Project Proposals and PowerPoint Presentations.
• Support PFS in coordinating, organizing, preparing, and delivering capacity building and knowledge-sharing initiatives and events with stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of guidelines and policies, drafting and commenting on documents, comment revision, and producing information materials and supporting visuals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

Applicants must at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:

• Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
• Have graduated with a Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.
• Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
• Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
• Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, including a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
