The Investment Assistant is responsible for providing operational and administrative support to the Investment Unit of the KenGen Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme. This role is vital in ensuring the Scheme provides retirement benefits effectively to its members and their dependents. The role involves managing investment documentation, preparing analytical reports, and identifying potential investment opportunities to ensure the growth and security of the scheme's assets.\n\n### Main Duties and Responsibilities\n- Draft comprehensive investment reports covering both financial and non-financial assets on a monthly basis.\n- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date investment register to track all scheme assets.\n- Assist in forward-planning for investments and prepare detailed investment proposals for consideration.\n- Identify and research investment prospects from referrals, leads, and other market sources.\n- Review current business trends and collect relevant investment-related data to inform decision-making.\n- Develop professional presentations for the unit leader to be shared with relevant parties.\n\n### Key Result Areas\n- Efficient support for all investment-related matters.\n- Submission of accurate, timely, and relevant investment reports.\n- Enforcement of relevant guidelines, rules, and regulations related to investment.\n- Successful execution of assigned work processes.\n\n### Knowledge and Skills Required\n- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration/ Management, Commerce, Entrepreneurship or its equivalent from a recognized university.\n- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role.\n- A professional qualification in investment such as CIFA, CISI, CPA, ACCA or CFA.\n- Excellent communication skills.\n- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.\n- Ability to work under pressure.
