Job Description
Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) is seeking to recruit five Ungraded Artisans for Flushing Units & Exhausters Operations. The primary role involves the operation of specialized heavy machinery used in the management of sewerage systems. This includes ensuring the efficient functioning of flushing units and exhausters while adhering to safety and maintenance standards.
Responsibilities
Operate flushing units and exhausters as assigned.
Perform minor troubleshooting of equipment parts and identify maintenance requirements.
Conduct routine checks on cooling, oil, electrical, and brake systems, and monitor tyre pressure.
Ensure the safety and security of the equipment, the public, and associated tools both on and off the road.
Maintain the cleanliness and proper working condition of the machinery.
Maintain approved daily work tickets to track operations.
Ensure services provided to private entities are correctly documented for billing purposes.
Liaise with electromechanical and transport teams for maintenance and operational coordination.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Minimum of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of 'D-' (Minus) or its equivalent.
Technical Certification: Trade Test Grade III or above, or significant on-the-job experience in driving and operating heavy equipment like flushing units and exhausters.
Professional Certification: A valid Plant Operator Certificate is required.
Licensing: A valid NTSA driver's license for heavy trucks/equipment.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a busy environment operating heavy equipment.
