Marine Sandblaster / Painter

Key Responsibilities

• Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
• Prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, by applying primers or sealers.
• Protect surrounding areas using canvas drop cloths, masking tape, and paper during the painting process.
• Repair cracks, holes, and joints using caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers with appropriate tools.
• Read work orders and follow instructions from supervisors to determine project requirements.
• Remove fixtures like frames, door knobs, and electrical covers before starting work.
• Strip old finishes using sanding, wire brushing, burning, or water/abrasive blasting techniques.
• Smooth surfaces with sandpaper, scrapers, steel wool, or sanding machines.
• Erect scaffolding, swing gates, or ladders for work at heights.
• Apply waterproofing membranes and caulking to buildings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• At least two (2) years of experience in paint preparation, painting, sanding, scuffing, or a related field.
• Must possess a valid passport valid for at least one (1) year at the time of hire and be able to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of the deployment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain necessary facility credentials/authorizations.
• Physical ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
• Capability to work in extremely austere, harsh, and potentially hostile environmental conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of preparing and painting interior and exterior structures, equipment, and components.
• Ability to work independently with strong decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions within the painting trade.
• Previous experience working in an OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
• Possession of a valid country driver's license and applicable visas.
