Job Description
Amentum is a global leader in designing, engineering, and modernizing critical systems and programs of national importance across defense, security, intelligence, energy, and the environment. We are seeking a Transportation Program Manager to oversee critical logistics and transportation operations.
Role Overview
The Transportation Program Manager is responsible for managing Transportation, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Movement Control, Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group, Container Management, and Motor Pool Operations. This role involves working closely with project and construction management staff to develop plans, policies, and procedures for project transportation support, ensuring all sections comply with contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Transportation, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Movement Control, Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group, Container Management, and Motor Pool Operations.
Develop plans, policies, and procedures for project transportation support in collaboration with project and construction management.
Ensure transportation sections comply with contract requirements.
Facilitate effective communications throughout the transportation organization.
Cross-level assets (using on-hand personnel and assets) to ensure sufficient capabilities for surge and demobilization requirements.
Develop or train personnel on all aspects of logistics as available.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum eight (8) years of experience in military transportation.
At least two (2) years in an OCONUS/combat zone management role in transportation, freight forwarding, and/or supply chain management.
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, management, or associated discipline; two (2) additional years of experience in a related field may be substituted for each year of college.
Proven technical experience in interpretation and use of military transportation automated systems, civilian transportation management, and cargo tracking systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Additional Requirements
Valid passport (valid for at least one year at the time of hire) and ability to travel internationally.
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain them for the duration of deployment.
Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Valid country driver's license.
Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
Preferred Qualifications
Evaluation experience in site capability and limitation for depots, truck terminals, air terminals, water ports/terminals, and road networks.
Skill in organizing and supervising movement, deployment, and redeployment of personnel and equipment in a military/joint environment with civilians.
Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
Physical Requirements & Working Environment
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
Long hours and exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Personnel should be prepared to move on short notice and under adverse conditions.
