Job Description
AAA Growers is seeking a dedicated Driver & Messenger to facilitate the safe and efficient transport of personnel, guests, goods, and materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for adhering to delivery schedules, optimizing routes, and ensuring the absolute security of cargo and safety of passengers.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation: Safely transport staff, guests, goods, and materials to various destinations according to the established delivery schedule.
Route Optimization: Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency, minimize travel time, and reduce fuel consumption using GPS and other navigation tools.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks to ensure the vehicle is in optimal working condition. Promptly report any vehicle issues or required repairs to the Line Manager.
Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies. Monitor vehicle insurance and service dates for compliance. Prioritize the safety of self and others on the road, including proper use of seat belts and cargo securing devices.
Vehicle Care: Maintain the interior and exterior cleanliness and organization of the assigned vehicle.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, including delivery notes, receipts, trip mileage, and any discrepancies. Complete and submit daily reports as required by the company.
Incident Reporting: Promptly communicate any delays, incidents, or accidents to the Logistics Manager and the nearest traffic police officer as required.
Administrative Support: Manage the company’s fuel card properly and perform other general administrative duties as delegated by management.
Qualifications and Experience
Certificate in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Valid driver’s license appropriate for the specific class of vehicle being operated.
Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably within a logistics or transportation environment.
Strong working knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, and safe driving practices.
An excellent driving record.
Proficiency in using GPS and other navigation tools effectively.
Ability to operate various delivery vehicles, such as vans and trucks.
Good physical condition with the ability to handle loading and unloading of goods.
