Role Overview
The Transport Coordinator is responsible for monitoring the timely delivery of Diageo products from the respective Diageo plants to the distribution sites and Key account customers. The role holds the responsibility to ensure that all products are delivered safely by all 3rd party Transporters.
Key Responsibilities
Network Optimization: Regularly review and conduct benchmarks to ensure efficient distribution networks and optimize loads to drive cost reduction/avoidance and improve efficiency.
Performance Management: Implement business procedures to drive improvements in timely deliveries, quality of service, turnaround time, damages, and truck utilization.
Fleet Management: Optimize the use of Diageo fleet management tools to ensure maximum truck utilization and lane adherence by all Transporters.
3PL Management: Manage plant-to-customer shipments by working directly with 3rd party logistics (3PL) providers to meet service level agreements and ensure reliability. Track execution and raise performance issues to ensure compliance with contract terms.
Financial & Budgetary Control: Monitor the 'Cost to Deliver' to ensure adherence to budget performance. Handle Transport Purchase Orders by raising requisitions in Coupa and following through to closure and GRN raising.
Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate reporting of Move Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and maintain the transportation portion of the Logistics dashboard.
Collaboration: Work closely with Supply Finance, 3PL Finance, and production teams to ensure accurate recharges and support the execution of full goods deliveries and returnable receipts.
Continuous Improvement: Update visual performance management in operational areas and work collaboratively with the Digital Control Tower.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in transport coordination, logistics operations, or supply chain roles.
Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) for delivery management and experience with Coupa for invoicing and PO management.
Industry Context: Experience working with 3PL providers and managing transport contracts. Previous experience in the FMCG or beverage industry is an added advantage.
