The Trade Development Representative (Machakos) is responsible for focusing on channel visitations to drive retailer awareness and turnaround on SIMs and Float. The role emphasizes visibility and merchandising at the point of purchase for SSOs (Small Shop Owners) and agents to ensure market presence and business growth within the region.
Key Responsibilities
SSO & Agent Recruitment & Mapping: Effectively manage the identification and recruitment of agents, specifically targeting mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.
Call Rate: Visit SSOs and agents regularly using agreed route plans (beat plans) to maintain consistent engagement.
Training and Tools: Provide all requisite tools for transactions at SSO and agent outlets and train SSOs and Agents on business processes.
AML & Compliance: Train agents on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and SSOs on the KYC process in relation to SIM registration (SIMREG).
Stock Management: Monitor and effectively enforce the 1.5x stock rule for agents and ensure SSOs have adequate SIM stock for new registration and activations.
Merchandising: Develop and maintain merchandising standards by providing merchandising materials at SSOs and Agent outlets.
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
At least 1 year of experience in a sales and distribution role within an FMCG or Telecommunications environment.
Strong focus on customer service and satisfaction.
Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
Proven ability in networking and building strategic partnerships.
Strong analytical thinking capabilities.
