Job Description
Nandi County, known as Kenya’s athletics hub and the 'home of champions', is seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as Tourism Officer II. This role is pivotal in identifying tourism potential and marketing the county as a premier destination.
Role Purpose
The Tourism Officer II will be responsible for identifying tourism products, compiling data, and executing promotional strategies. The goal is to enhance the local tourism industry through marketing campaigns, events, and festivals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Product Identification: Identifying and preparing simple reports on tourism products within the county.
Data Collection: Collecting and compiling tourism information and data to build a comprehensive county database.
Industry Support: Supporting the local tourism industry by providing promotional opportunities.
Marketing & Campaigns: Devising and coordinating marketing campaigns to promote Nandi as a destination.
Event Management: Organizing special and seasonal events and festivals, as well as setting up and attending exhibitions.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, candidates must have:
A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Tourism Management, Hospitality, Environmental studies, Sociology, International Relations, or a Tourism-related field.
A Certificate in Computer Application from a recognized institution.
