Job Description
St. Joseph’s Technical Institute, Nyang’oma, a public institution catering to deaf students, is seeking a qualified and experienced Cateress to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the catering department, ensuring high standards of meal preparation, hygiene, and kitchen management.
Responsibilities
Meal Planning and Preparation: Efficiently plan and prepare nutritious meals for the institution.
Hygiene Maintenance: Maintain strict hygiene standards in all kitchen and dining areas.
Staff Supervision: Manage and supervise kitchen staff to ensure productive operations.
Inventory Management: Oversee and manage food inventory to minimize waste and ensure consistent supply.
Compliance: Ensure all kitchen operations comply with established health and safety standards.
Requirements
Diploma in Food Production, Service, or Management.
At least 2 years of professional experience in a similar role.
Demonstrable knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Must possess a valid Food Handling Certificate.
Must be computer literate.
Must have a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
