This role is responsible for leading and executing audits across various departments and functions within the Bank. The primary focus is on leveraging data analytics and IT systems to enhance internal controls and risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments during both annual planning and specific engagement planning stages.
Audit Leadership: Lead thematic audit engagements as outlined in the Internal Audit Plan. This includes overseeing planning, scoping, fieldwork, and reporting, while ensuring monitoring of agreed recommendations within set timeframes and in compliance with the Bank's quality parameters.
Evidence & Documentation: Ensure audit work is comprehensive enough to satisfy objectives and that findings are backed by sufficient, reliable, and relevant audit evidence.
Reporting: Deliver clear and concise written reports and oral presentations detailing the results of thematic audits and advisory engagements on a timely basis.
Team Mentorship: Contribute to the technical development of the Internal Audit team through coaching, performance appraisal, and quality assurance activities.
Process Improvement: Participate in the development and maintenance of Internal Audit systems, tools, and methodologies. This includes driving the adoption of TeamMate and other audit tools to ensure efficient and effective audit assignments.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Business-related field.
Professional Certification: Must be a full CPA (K) or hold a CIA equivalent professional certification.
Experience: At least 7 years of internal or external audit experience gained from reputable institutions, preferably within the Banking sector or a Big 4 Audit Firm.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in data analytics tools such as Alteryx, TeamMate, and Power BI.
Critical Skills & Competencies
Deep knowledge of audit methodologies, risk assessment, and control frameworks.
Strong understanding of the banking industry and regulatory environment.
Experience managing large-scale and complex audit assignments.
Proficiency in IT general controls, information security principles, and application controls.
Excellent analytical abilities to interpret complex data patterns and trends.
Robust project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Sound understanding of Audit standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
