The Senior Internal Controls and Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the group compliance policy and the CFAO Mobility Kenya Limited compliance program. This role involves conducting internal audits, leading investigations, and managing the PACI-Internal control tool to maintain organizational integrity and adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Managerial Responsibilities
Ensure the full implementation of the PACI (Internal Control Tool) across all business units.
Develop and execute the Compliance awareness program, including the preparation of monthly compliance activities.
Provide guidance and supervision to the internal audit and compliance officer.
Operational Responsibilities
Develop and implement CFAO Mobility's Anti-fraud, Anti-Bribery, and Anti-Corruption programs, including Reporting Concerns and Improper Conduct, Policy on Conflict of Interest, Whistleblowing, and Anti-retaliation policies.
Review all contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) before they are signed to ensure any compliance risks are identified and managed.
Conduct compliance testing on contracts and SLAs.
Review documents and processes at branches and divisions to ensure non-compliant departments are identified and supported in the development of appropriate processes per the annual audit plan.
Conduct routine internal control reviews and reporting for headquarters, branches, and intermediaries based on compliance and PACI controls.
Participate in semi-annual and annual stock counts (parts and vehicles) and review reports to identify and address potential risk exposures.
Track the progress of remediation for control weaknesses identified by CFAO Internal Audit, self-testing, or controls assessment; maintain the monthly PACI tracker for the group.
Organize quarterly Local Compliance Committee (LCC) meetings for mobility companies and circulate meeting minutes with Headquarters.
Conduct due diligence for suppliers, customers, and intermediaries, including member checks for highlighted transactions per PACI requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor of Commerce degree or a related field.
Professional qualification in accounting (CPAK or ACCA).
At least 7 years of experience in audit/risk management at a supervisory position in an organization of similar size and complexity.
A postgraduate qualification in Risk and Compliance will be an added advantage.
