The Technician (Grade A/B) at Kenyatta University is a specialized support role within the Clinical Skills Laboratory and Teaching Laboratories. The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate clinical skills training and practical teaching sessions by ensuring all equipment, models, and materials are prepared and maintained to the highest standards. This role is essential in assisting academic staff during demonstrations and providing students with a safe, effective environment for medical and health sciences training.
Responsibilities and Duties
Support clinical skills training and practical teaching sessions for students.
Prepare and maintain teaching equipment, anatomical models, and simulation materials.
Assist academic staff during practical demonstrations and laboratory sessions.
Maintain accurate laboratory inventory and equipment logs.
Enforce safety standards and ensure the proper functioning of all laboratory equipment.
Provide technical support during hands-on clinical skills training sessions.
Qualifications and Experience
A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Technology, Clinical Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, or another related health sciences field.
Relevant professional registration where applicable.
Previous experience supporting clinical skills laboratories, simulation laboratories, or medical training laboratories is considered an added advantage.
