Fortinet is seeking a Systems Engineer to work closely with a sales representative across the Public Sector. The Systems Engineer's main mission is to support the sales organization in all technical matters regarding pre-sales, sales calls, and post-sales activities.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Sales Leadership: Lead all technical aspects of the sales cycle with Public Sector customers, from initial RFIs through to RFPs and RFQs. This includes project management and active participation in Proof of Concepts (POCs) in partnership with internal teams and commercial partners.
Solution Design: Understand customer technical requirements deeply and build solutions that outperform competitor offerings.
Technical Point of Contact: Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and partners, working closely with sales partners.
Sales Support: Assist the SEs, Team Leads, Account Managers, and SEMs in executing the sales plan for your vertical(s).
POC Management: Setup and configure Fortinet and associated technologies for Proof-of-Concepts.
Demonstrations: Prepare and conduct product demonstrations, both virtually and in-person.
Solution Presentation: Discuss and present products and solutions through white-boarding and formal presentations to customers and partners.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: BA/BSc/HND degree.
Experience: Previous experience in a pre-sales engineer role, managing end-to-end technical aspects of deals through to closure.
Technical Aptitude: High aptitude for security technology in network, endpoint, and application areas.
Security Expertise: Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies such as encryption, authentication, network security, intrusion prevention, malware protection, routing, switching, and LAN/WAN.
Market Knowledge: Experience in WAN Edge, Core, and ISP markets.
Technology Proficiency: Strong understanding of SDWAN, SDN, Cloud Security, Virtualization, and NFV.
Protocol Knowledge: Familiarity with RADIUS, PKI, IKE, Certificates, L2TP, IPSEC, FIREWALL, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, and 3DES.
Competitive Awareness: Knowledge of solutions from competitors such as Cisco, Juniper, HPE, and Palo Alto Networks.
Communication: Fluency in English is a Must. High-level problem-solving and relationship-building skills are essential.
Certifications (Beneficial): NSE8, CCIE, or CISSP accreditation.
