SABIS International School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Swimming Teacher to join its team. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure student success and help them reach their full potential by implementing the SABIS® curriculum and philosophy through the consistent use of proprietary teaching methods. The Swimming Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction across various age groups and skill levels while maintaining the highest standards of water safety.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality swimming lessons tailored to students of varying age groups and skill levels.
Safety & Supervision: Ensure student safety and provide close supervision during all swimming sessions; promote discipline and water safety.
Assessment & Feedback: Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to learners and guardians. Prepare students for internal assessments and competitive swimming meets.
Student Support: Discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller (AQC) and Head of Department (HOD). Provide guidance and motivation for low-performing students to help them improve.
Administrative Duties: Proctor exams as needed and ensure a properly managed test environment. Aid in testing students, substituting for absent teachers, organizing student logistics (lunches/buses), and controlling campus traffic.
Student Life Coordination: Prepare and participate in activity plans related to student life events such as art, open houses, and physical education in coordination with the Student Life Coordinator (SLC).
Professional Growth: Attend training sessions as requested by school management to enhance understanding of the SABIS® system and improve overall teaching performance.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related subject matter and/or equivalent qualification.
Proficiency in English.
A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching swimming.
Proven swimming proficiency in all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly).
Swimming Certification from a recognized professional body.
Mandatory registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Valid First Aid and CPR certification (lifeguard certification is highly preferred).
Previous training in safeguarding and child protection.
Excellent communication skills and a passion for education and wellness.
