Murang’a University of Technology (MUT) is seeking a Vocational and Technical Trainer specializing in Information Technology (Grade CSG10/JG 'K'). The role involves delivering comprehensive technical education to students at the Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels, ensuring they acquire the necessary practical and theoretical competencies for the modern workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver curriculum content in Information Technology and Business Information Technology to students at Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels.
Conduct practical training sessions, laboratory demonstrations, and hands-on exercises to enhance student technical proficiency.
Assess and evaluate student performance using standardized TVET CDACC assessment methods and internal examination protocols.
Provide academic mentorship and professional guidance to students throughout their course of study.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, progress, and curriculum implementation.
Integrate industry-best practices and practical experience into the classroom and laboratory environment.
Participate in curriculum review and development processes to ensure alignment with industry needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Experience: Relevant teaching experience of at least two (2) years at the Diploma or Higher National Diploma level.
Industry Experience: Practical industry experience in the IT field is considered a significant added advantage.
Registration: Being a registered and/or licensed member with TVETA is an added advantage.
Certification: Trained Trainer/Assessor certification by TVET CDACC is highly desirable.
Professionalism: Professional certifications or membership in relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.
Pedagogy: Strong understanding of pedagogy and practical experience in the relevant niche area.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
