The Stationary Engineer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as steam boilers, air compressors, generators, and HVAC systems. This role ensures the continuous supply of utilities and industrial services through diligent monitoring, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Key Responsibilities include: Operating and maintaining stationary engines and mechanical equipment including steam boilers, air compressors, generators, and HVAC systems; Performing daily readings, adjustments, and troubleshooting to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely; Conducting routine maintenance, including cleaning, repairing, and replacing parts on boilers, pumps, refrigeration units, and compressors; Starting, stopping, regulating, and monitoring power generation and distribution systems (chilled water, fuel, and steam systems); Maintaining and troubleshooting air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, and associated controls; Adhering to preventative maintenance schedules to reduce breakdowns; Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements, including local laws and applicable U.S. government/military regulations; Maintaining detailed records using equipment logs and CMMS; Responding to emergency situations promptly to repair failing systems; and collaborating with engineering staff for task completion. Requirements include 3-5 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma (KCSE) or equivalent, with technical certifications in stationary engineering preferred. Candidates must possess a valid passport (minimum 1 year validity), be able to travel internationally, and pass contract medical requirements for deployment.
