The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is seeking a Social Engineering and Reporting Contractor for its Urban Economy Branch. The role involves promoting socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities by developing mobilization strategies, strengthening local land management bodies, and ensuring robust monitoring and reporting systems. \n\n### Responsibilities\n- Develop and deploy mobilization strategies in intervention areas based on social and institutional analyses.\n- Strengthen local land management bodies, development committees, and community policing committees, ensuring inclusion of women and youth.\n- Facilitate consultations regarding Free, Informed and Prior Consent (FIP).\n- Identify, assess, and update operational, social, security, and fiduciary risks, proposing mitigation measures.\n- Establish and manage monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems, including indicators and data collection tools.\n- Ensure the quality, reliability, and traceability of project data.\n- Contribute to communication plans and visibility requirements for financial partners.\n- Produce periodic internal and donor reports.\n- Facilitate activities related to gender inclusion, PSEA/GBV, and complaints management.\n- Contribute to project learning and strategic recommendations.\n\n### Requirements\n- Completion of a high school diploma is required; supplemental training in Social Sciences, Political Science, or Law is desirable.\n- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in local governance, community mobilization, and leadership.\n- Experience is reduced to five (5) years for candidates with a first-level University degree.\n- Advanced knowledge in community actor empowerment, environmental management, or local security.\n- Good knowledge of project management, reporting, and M&E is required.\n- Familiarity with land and urban management is desirable.\n- Experience with the United Nations or government structures is an added advantage.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply via the UN careers portal.
