Senior Lecturer in Pathology

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching and Research: Conduct high-quality teaching, engage in research, and supervise both students and staff members.
• Curriculum Development: Lead the design, development, and improvement of academic programs and medical curricula.
• Leadership: Provide academic/research leadership within the department and mentor junior faculty.
• Administrative Duties: Participate in departmental management, school or institutional meetings, and serve on various university committees.
• Student Advising: Provide academic and research guidance to students.
• Community Engagement: Demonstrate involvement in community activities, such as serving on Boards of Governors (BOG).

Qualifications and Requirements

• Academic Qualifications: Must possess a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and a Master of Medicine (MMed) in Pathology.
• Additional Qualifications: Having a Fellowship, Research fellowship, or a PhD will be considered a significant added advantage.
• Professional Membership: Must be a registered member of relevant professional bodies.
• Academic Contribution: Evidence of contribution to a University or Research Institution through activities like participation in departmental management, advising, and committee work.
• Research and Publications: Having participated in a research project and possessing a minimum of one publication will be an added advantage.
