Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Curriculum and Test Development, the Deputy Director - Examinations Administration will be responsible for leading and coordinating the development, review, and implementation of curricula and professional examination systems at kasneb. The role involves managing subject matter experts and engaging stakeholders to ensure that educational standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Management: Coordinate the content development and review processes to ensure syllabuses remain relevant.
Research Coordination: Lead research on examination-related matters to provide evidence-based guidance for curriculum development.
Expert Recruitment & Training: Coordinate the recruitment of subject matter experts (SMEs) in liaison with the HR Division and manage their training and orientation.
Stakeholder Engagement: Plan and execute engagements with stakeholders to obtain feedback and insights for curriculum improvement.
Program Implementation: Coordinate workplans for the launch of new curricula and manage post-implementation programs.
Policy Development: Oversee the development of transition protocols and other supporting policies related to examinations.
Risk Management: Identify and manage risks during the curriculum development and review phases.
Person Specifications
To be appointed to this grade, a candidate must have:
A cumulative service period of fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience, with at least three (3) years at the grade of Assistant Director, Examinations or a comparable position.
A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Education, Law, or a related field from a recognized institution.
A Master’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Education, Law, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Membership in good standing with a professional body such as the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS), Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA), or the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).
A Leadership Course Certificate lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
A valid practicing certificate or license where applicable.
Proficiency in computer applications and digital literacy.
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
