Job Description
Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) is a public-spirited center of excellence that was established in 2015 to make distinctive contributions to society in teaching, research innovation, and holistic development. The University is seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer (Grade 13) specializing in Medical Surgical Nursing.
Role Purpose
The Senior Lecturer will be responsible for advanced teaching, research, and administrative leadership within the Nursing department. The successful candidate will contribute to the university's mission through high-quality pedagogy, scholarly publications, and the mentorship of postgraduate students.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate instruction in Medical Surgical Nursing.
Conduct and lead original research projects within the field of expertise.
Supervise postgraduate students (Masters/PhD) to successful completion.
Publish research findings in reputable, refereed scholarly journals.
Participate in curriculum development and review to maintain high educational standards.
Provide evidence of and actively engage in community service activities.
Contribute to university administrative committees and departmental planning.
Qualifications and Experience
An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Medical Surgical Nursing or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
At least three (3) years of teaching experience as a Lecturer or equivalent; OR a minimum of six (6) years of industry experience.
Must be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
Evidence of supervising at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent.
A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, with at least twenty-four (24) of them from refereed scholarly journals.
Persons from research institutions, practice, or industries must meet the minimum point requirements for their respective subcategory to qualify for appointment.
Must show evidence of community service.
