Job Description
Kenyatta University is seeking a qualified Senior Lecturer for the Department of Health Management and Informatics. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic leadership, delivering high-quality teaching to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and conducting impactful research within the field of Health Information Management.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching at the university level for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Conduct original research and publish findings in recognized academic journals.
Supervise postgraduate students (Masters and PhD) in their research projects and theses.
Apply for research grants either individually or as part of a research group.
Participate in learned conferences, seminars, and workshops to share research findings and contribute to the academic community.
Contribute to the administrative and academic development of the Department of Health Management and Informatics.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education: An earned PhD degree or equivalent in Health Information Management or a related field from an accredited and recognized university.
Additional Education: A Master’s Degree in Health Information Management or a related field from an accredited and recognized university.
Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching or research experience at the university level as a Lecturer.
Research Output: Accumulated at least six (6) equivalent publication points as a Lecturer.
Student Supervision: Successfully supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students as a Lecturer.
Grants: Evidence of applying for research grants since being appointed as a Lecturer.
Professional Registration: Must be registered by the Health Records and Information Managers Board.
Teaching Quality: Demonstrated evidence of good quality teaching and active participation in academic conferences.
