Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Senior Lecturer in Clinical Medicine (Grade 13). This role involves providing academic leadership, conducting high-quality research, and mentoring students within the university's academic framework.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality lectures and clinical instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Supervise postgraduate students (Master’s and PhD) through their research and to successful completion of their degrees.
Conduct original scholarly research and publish findings in reputable, referred journals.
Contribute to the development and review of the Clinical Medicine curriculum.
Engage in community service and professional activities that enhance the university's reputation.
Participate in departmental administrative tasks and academic leadership roles as assigned.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior academic staff and students.
Requirements and Qualifications
An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Clinical Medicine or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
At least three (3) years of teaching experience as a Lecturer or equivalent; OR a minimum of six (6) years of industry experience.
Registration with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
Supervised to completion at least three (3) postgraduate students as a Lecturer or equivalent.
A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, with at least twenty-four (24) of them from referred scholarly journals.
Persons from research institutions or industry must meet the minimum point requirements for their respective subcategory to qualify for appointment.
Must show evidence of community service.
