Role Overview
M-KOPA is seeking a Senior Lead – HR Shared Services & Benefits to oversee and optimize HR operations and benefit programs. This role involves end-to-end administration of benefits, occupational health and safety (OHS), wellness, global mobility, and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities
Benefits Operations: Administer medical insurance, pension, and welfare programs end-to-end. Manage enrollments, exits, and benefits changes. Resolve employee queries, coordinate provider escalations, and manage relationships with brokers and underwriters. Conduct annual benefits reviews and track utilization.
Occupational Health & Safety (OHS): Serve as the main point of contact for OH&S queries. Coordinate pre-employment and periodic medical assessments, administer Work Injury Benefits Act (WIBA) claims processes, maintain incident records, and support Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health Services (DOSH) reporting compliance across markets.
Wellness & Mobility Support: Coordinate quarterly wellness initiatives, manage fitness provider relationships, and track program effectiveness. Support employee relocation and international assignments, including coordinating visas, work permits, and immigration documentation.
Operations & Reporting: Own vendor management, ensure Service Level Agreement (SLA) adherence through Freshservice (or equivalent platforms), track POs and invoices, and maintain the reporting and dashboard infrastructure.
Requirements and Qualifications
Proven track record in HR operations, benefits administration, or HR Shared Services, with demonstrable experience across employee benefits, occupational health coordination, or global mobility support—ideally in a multi-country environment.
Working knowledge of Kenyan labour law, WIBA 2007, and DOSH requirements, with experience supporting occupational health or work injury programmes and an understanding of East African employment regulations.
A relevant degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or Psychology (Master's or HR certification preferred), with strong analytical capability and experience using HR data to drive operational improvement.
